The Story Is in the Specs

The Murano has room for five along with plenty of cargo space. The 60/40-split rear seat is a reclining bench that offers plenty of padding. It stows away to offer enough cargo space for 26 carry-on suitcases, which is about 67 cubic feet of space. With the seats in place, the Murano holds nine carry-on suitcases.

Along with notable cargo space and comfortable seats, the Murano also provides plenty of power under the hood. The 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. All trim levels get the same respectable fuel economy, an EPA-estimated 20 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims with available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, and the transmission is an Xtronic CVT to improve fuel economy.

Filled with Tech

Each Nissan Murano comes with the NissanConnect eight-inch color display with Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ integration. It offers hands-free controls with voice recognition and Siri Eyes Free systems. Nissan includes an AM/FM/CD system with six speakers, Bluetooth^®, and a pair of USB and USB-C ports.

The upgraded trim levels have Nissan Door-to-Door Navigation, Bose^® Premium Audio with eleven speakers, HomeLink Universal Transceiver, and Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control. Some Murano models come with adjustable ambient interior lighting. Some models have heated outside mirrors as well as the motion-activated liftgate.

Trims and Dimensions

Nissan offers four Murano trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum. They all come with the same engine and transmission, but the interior, tech, and safety features differ.

The base model is the S, which comes with Safety Shield^® 360, seating for five, and available all-wheel drive. Upgrades on the Murano SV include tech like Remote Engine Start System, Front and Rear Sonar System, and Intelligent Cruise Control.

On the SL, Nissan adds the Bose Premium Audio System, Heated Front Seats and Rear Seats, and a motion-activated liftgate. Lastly, on the Platinum, Nissan includes luxury features like heated and cooled front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and upgraded interior finishes like leather seats and other attractive accents. A dual panoramic moonroof is available on all models except the S.

Safety Features

Nissan added several standard safety features to the 2021 Murano. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and High-Beam Assist. Nissan offers an available Intelligent Around View^® Monitor.

Upgraded trim levels include more safety features like Intelligent Cruise Control and a Front and Rear Sonar System. Traffic Sign Recognition is standard on the SL and Platinum trim. All trims have Intelligent Driver Alertness, Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control, and the S and SV models have rear-view cameras.

For more safety on the roads, the Murano comes standard with LED headlights, signature running lights, turn signal indicators, and taillights. Upgraded trims have LED fog lights for more visibility in challenging conditions.
